September 11, 2008

Today is the 7th anniversary of the attacks of September 11th, 2001. This morning as I left the house I hung the American flag on my house that appeared in my first blog posting on July 4th, 2008. As I rasied the flag over my porch I couldn’t help but notice the cool crisp air and the beautiful morning was just like it was 7 years ago. In an effort to reflect on the moments that have so impacted us all Lauren and I we’re able to visit and photograph our experience of ground zero. The images we created will be available for purchase at our Shooting for the Soul fundraiser that will be held soon, with every penny of the sale going to a Non-profit that ensures a college education for the children of firefighters lost on September llth.

Catie and Jim

Wow! Now thats what I call a wedding! Catie and Jim put so much time and effort into their wedding – we could see their touches in every detail. I just live for weddings like this, beatiful day, geourgous bride, excellent locations, how can you not be inspired!! My favorite part of the whole day (ok, second favorite) was Catie and Jim seeing eachother for the fist time that day. Catie was at the edge of the woods and as Jim came walking around the bend she began to tear up like she hadn’t seen him in years. It brought tears to my eyes to photograph such a heartfelt moment between them. Honestly, we just dont get to see that kind of love as much as we want to. I will tell you though, as much as I loved being a part of that moment my favorite part of the day was giving Catie and Jim their PhotoGuestbook, hey just loved it and it seemed they couldn’t thank us enough for being there for them. Angie and Eddie

Angie and Eddies wedding is just around the corner luckily we were able to get together and do their E-Session last week! I’m really looking forward to the wedding and I know they are, you could just hear the excitement in their voices when we talked about their wishes for the day. I already know it will be laid back and smooth sailing with as much thought and planning as Angie has put into it! – Nick

Danielle and John

So I’ve been looking forward to this wedding since I met Danielle and John, and even more since I saw them at a friends wedding we shot two years ago when they weren’t even engaged! One of my favorite things I remember about Danielle was when I was leaving that wedding two years back she winked at me and said “We’ll be calling you soon” Almost as if she knew something John didn’t, sort of like “If he knows whats good for him!!” John and Danielle are truly one of those couples everyone wants to be friends with and it really showed at the wedding, it was packed! Lauren and I had such an extraordinary time and I know the guests did too. Their PhotoGuestbook is one of the biggest we have ever done and I know that party lasted well into the morning. Emily and Richard

Once I met Emily and Richard about two years ago I knew their wedding would be fun! Oh man do I love being right, It was a blast!! They really let us just run with it and be as creative as we wanted. It was a beautiful day and Emily couldn’t have looked more ravishing. Their wedding party was a hoot and the families were just a pleasure to work with. Thanks everyone for making our day as smooth as possible! Click on ‘Find a wedding’ to the left to view all their images and don’t forget to leave your comments below for the newlyweds… Nick
